Before the boardwalk

Before the Boardwalk was built, starting in the early 1920’s, Coney Island and Brighton Beach looked more like a seaside resort with luxury hotels, bath houses, and prominent restaurants and beer halls.. There was also areas that were less than luxurious and, of course, there was Luna park, Steeplechase and other rides.
