They All Came– 1914

Just before, during, and shortly after the first World War, many immigrants arrived at Ellis Island looking for a new life leaving the devastation of Europe behind. The migration was mostly middle and eastern Europeans at that time and my grandparents arrived at Ellis Island on a steamer from  Odessa. Since those years, immigration to the USA as expanded from  all parts of the globe and people still keep coming, as my grandparents did, to seek new opportunities in our country.
