Cathedral
Acrylic/canvas 30x24” 2001
This is a representation of the formidable “Russian Orthodox Cathedral of The Transfiguration of Our Lord” built in 1920 in the Greenpoint district of Brooklyn. This neighborhood is also known as “little Poland” because of its strong Polish ancestry dating back to the 19th.C. During his historic visit to New York City in 1989, Lech Walesa, a prominent Polish leader, made it a point to visit this area .
