Many a vacation for Brooklynites was spent in the “mountains”. Of course, we generally refer to the “mountains” as the Catskills and its hotels. But their must have been (not me) some who ventured further up north to “enjoy” REAL nature rather than “succumb” to the luxury of golf courses and nightclubs.

Remember those great vacations to the Catskills! Boy I do! Great hotels; Bungalow colonies...movies in Monticello...The fresh country air (said my father). And the FOOD… as much as you could stuff in. Those were the days...and now it’s “sadly” just about gone.
