The Rotunda-1955
Acrylic/canvas 30x24” 1996
It’s the 1955 World Series and New York Yankees’ team bus arrives. The awesome Ebbets Field Rotunda, an 80 foot circle enclosed in Italian marble, greets them. The rotunda was quite spectacular with it’s 27 foot domed ceiling, tiled floors with baseball “stitching,” and a chandelier with 12 baseball-bat arms and 12 globes shaped like baseballs. And, yes, everyone knows that the Dodgers finally won that year!
