Many a vacation for Brooklynites was spent in the “mountains”. Of course, we generally refer to the “mountains” as the Catskills and its hotels. But their must have been (not me) some who ventured further up north to “enjoy” REAL nature rather than “succumb” to the luxury of golf courses and nightclubs.

Farrell’s Bar and Grill Acrylic/canvas 24x30” 2008
Farrell’s Bar has been a fixture in Park Slope since 1933. For those of you who remember the movie “Smoke” , it was shot at the factitious “Brooklyn Cigar Store” right across the street from Farrell’s. Originally, the Bar featured drinks and nothing else. It was a “serious” drinking place.
